Upon completing the Didactic Program in Dietetics, students must complete a supervised practice program (such as a dietetic internship or DI) to become a registered dietitian nutritionist.
Guidelines for applying to a supervised practice program (such as a dietetic internship) can be found on this password-protected page for Fall and Spring application cycles. On this page, UGA students have access to helpful resources for applying to these programs as well as steps to obtaining the NDTR certification. To request access, contact the DPD director.
All students are invited to attend Supervised Practice Workshops led by the DPD director (2 times per year; 1 in fall, 1 in spring). During these workshops, the following information is presented: DICAS application process, including programs that offer early admission to UGA students, professional preparation for supervised practice programs, and an overview of Declaration of Intent and Verification Statement Request forms. Workshops are typically scheduled in conjunction with Student Dietetic Association meetings and are announced at the start of each semester.
