Smyrna, Georgia
- Major
Furnishings and Interiors
- Clubs/Activities/Honors
Throughout my time at UGA, I have been involved in a few organizations at one time or another. I’ve worked with YoungLife, Destination Dawgs, and am currently in UGA’s chapter of the National Kitchen and Bath Association.
- Post-graduation Plans
Post grad, I plan on getting my Master’s of Architecture in Berlin, Germany!
- Why did you choose your major?
I chose Furnishings and Interiors because it truly speaks to my creative strengths and natural abilities, as well as challenges me to broaden my skillset in learning new techniques and software.
- Why did you want to become an Ambassador?
I chose to pursue the ambassadorship because I wanted to give back to a college and program that have given me so much. I cherish the experiences, friendships and care that this program has provided for me since I’ve been a part of it.
- What do you like the most about FACS?
I love being able to have such rich and personal professor/student relationships. I don’t know what I would do without them and their guidance and desire to see me and my cohort succeed.
- What advice would you give to new students?
Introduce yourself to your professors and always keep an open line of communication with them—it’s intimidating at first, but it’s so worth your while in the long run. Also, I encourage you to raise your hand! Sounds silly, but a lot of the time nerves prevent anyone from speaking up in class, but when you do, it helps you and those around you who might not have had the courage!
- What has been your favorite part of your FACS program so far?
My absolute favorite part of being in F&I is going on our semester fieldtrips to Atlanta. Getting exposure and networking with people in the industry has been seriously incredible.
- What is your favorite spot to study on campus?
I really love to study outdoors—so my favorite study spots on campus are the Eversheds Sutherland Courtyard on North Campus or the Ecology Atrium on South campus. If it’s rainy or super cold, I love studying in the Science Library!
- What is one thing you wish more people knew about FACS?
I wish that more people understood that in this college your experience is intentional. You are a part of a family - you aren’t just a number and people know your name.
