Major/minor

Major in Fashion Merchandising with an Emphasis in Brand Management.
Minor in General Business

Activities/Honors

During my time at UGA, I have had the privilege of working with the UGA Wesley Foundation as a mentor to younger students in small group and one-on-one setting. There, I was able to build a community of people who have guided me for four years. As I entered my major, I became involved in many different fashion organizations and projects. In 2023, I became a member of the Student Merchandising Association, serving on the executive board as the Head of Business Relations my junior year and Vice President my senior year. I have led SMA in building relationships with local Athens  businesses and overseeing logistics for fashion lookbooks, show premiers and magazine releases.

One of my favorite courses I took part in the Fashion Merchandising program was Retail
Entrepreneurship: Couture a la Cart. I held the position as General Manager over the student-led
pop-up shop on campus. In 2023, I started a job at Heery’s Clothes Closet, a high-end boutique that opened in Athens in 1959. I have since been promoted to Floor Manager and oversaw retail operations for the brick-and-mortar and online store.

Honors:
- Zell Scholarship (2021-2025)
- NRF Next Generation Scholarship Semi-Finalist (2023)
- FACS NYC Study Away Scholarship (2022)

Why I chose my major

Ever since I was little, I loved all things fashion and shopping; however, I never knew it
was a career opportunity. When entering UGA as a mathematics major, I didn’t feel settled and
knew I wanted something different to study. After talking to my advisor and taking the course
Introduction to Fashion Merchandising, I knew I had found something I was passionate about.
After four years of being in the program, I know I made the right decision to combine my
passions and studies.

What I like most about FACS

What I like most about FACS is the feeling of family that it conveys. While it is not the
biggest college at UGA, I feel as though the love FACS has for its students speaks volumes. The
faculty and staff all care deeply about their students, doing anything they can to
make sure their success is of upmost importance. I am so thankful to call FACS my home.

Post-graduation plans

I plan to move to Charleston, South Carolina and pursue a career in Retail Management and Analytics.
