Why I chose my major

Honestly, I struggled the first two years in college when it came to deciding what I wanted my career to be. I knew I loved fashion and wanted to, one way or another, incorporate it into my future job, but I was never 100% certain it was what I wanted my entire career to be. However, my interests were always redirected to fashion, and choosing to be a Fashion Merchandising major was truly the best thing I could’ve done for myself. I wish I would’ve started sooner!

What I like most about TMI

The entire TMI program is truly amazing. Not only have all of my professors been extremely kind and motivating, but every course I have taken has taught me something that will be useful post-graduation and for real-world application. In simple words, I get the best of both worlds because the FM major allows me to tap into the business side of the fashion industry, all while providing creative courses that cater to my love for fashion and design. I've had the privilege to participate in research studies and learn about different internship opportunities. Last summer, I was part of the NYC Study Away Maymester Program, where I learned the behind-the-scenes of smaller & larger retailers. It is safe to say that I am more than grateful to the entire FACS college, especially to the faculty within the FM major, for the endless opportunities and support!

Post-graduation Plans

After my graduation ceremony in May, I will travel to London, England with the FACS Study Abroad Program, where I will gain academic credit and participate in an international internship before officially receiving my degree in August. I am beyond excited and extremely thankful to FACS College for making this trip a possibility by contributing financially. Once I return from Europe, I plan to make a (scary) move to NYC where I hope to obtain a job on the wholesale team of a corporate fashion company!
