- Why I chose my major
My family history of chronic diseases, such as hypertension and cardiovascular disease, spurred my passion for nutrition education. I have witnessed how a lack of promotion to improve dietary habits and food choices has resulted in poor health outcomes. On both sides of my family, nutrition has been a significant obstacle to living a long life. I have gained a desire to share and provide knowledge to others on how to obtain health-promoting nutrition while attempting to improve my nutrition and prevent the development of chronic disease in myself.
- What I like most about FACS
Two things that make FACS extraordinary are the quality of professors and education. The faculty members make the department a vibrant, supportive environment that I am very grateful to have been a part of. Learning from and developing strong connections with renowned faculty members who are experts in their respective fields has been invaluable. My potential to learn and achieve academic excellence has been enhanced due to the conducive environment for learning.
- Post-graduation plans
Starting this July, I will attend Morehouse School of Medicine to pursue a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree.
