Why I chose my major

I chose to major in dietetics because of my deep-rooted fascination with the interplay between nutrition and athletic performance, fostered during my time playing water polo in high school; during this time, I was on the Olympic Development Programs National team. Through the rigors of training and competition, I became aware of the profound impact proper nutrition can have on enhancing strength, endurance and overall athletic ability. Witnessing firsthand how dietary choices influenced my performance, I was inspired to delve deeper into the science behind it.

What I like most about FACS

One of the aspects I cherish most about FACS is the unwavering support and guidance I receive from the professors. From day one, they have fostered an environment where students feel valued, challenged and inspired to excel. Their dedication to our success extends beyond the classroom, as they actively engage with us, offering mentorship, encouragement and invaluable insights into our chosen field. Whether through one-on-one consultations, research opportunities or extracurricular activities, they continuously invest in our growth and development. I am immensely grateful for their commitment, as their mentorship has been pivotal in shaping my experience at UGA. Without their encouragement and guidance, I would not be where I am today, equipped with the knowledge and confidence I need to pursue my goals.

Post-graduation plans

I will attend Augusta University to pursue a master’s degree through the physician assistant program. Ultimately, I plan to become a licensed physician assistant practicing in dermatology.
