- Why I chose my major
I was first drawn to this major because it was unlike anything I had seen before. I have always loved writing and being creative, but I knew I wanted to do something that gave me the opportunity to help people. Social Entrepreneurship struck a chord with me because it would allow me to really explore my interests of writing and talking to people, while also pursuing my passions and interests. This major teaches you how to take a step back and understand the situation and experiences of each and every consumer. We use the design-thinking process to inform our decisions and ideas , which inspires people-driven results and needs. The best part about this major, in my opinion, is that it is applicable to any industry, any part of the world and to any person.
- What I like most about FACS
My favorite thing about FACS is that it houses such a variety of students, majors and interests. Because of this, FACS is a melting pot of ideas. It’s fun because you are exposed to so many different aspects of the consumer world, whether that is in relation to fashion, interiors, finances, food or ideas. You also have the support of so many FACS professors and advisors with an array of backgrounds and experiences.
- Post-graduation plans
I will be moving to Charlotte, N.C. to pursue a career in strategic communications.
