- Why I chose my major
As I embarked on my college journey, I held a clear goal in mind - to pursue a career as a food product developer at Chick-fil-A Inc. Choosing culinary science was a no-brainer, providing me with the opportunity to delve into the fields of food science and nutrition. From the very beginning, I recognized the distinctiveness of this program, and I've since thrived through enhancing my skills in culinary arts, food science and nutrition.
- What I like most about FACS
What I appreciate most about FACS is its diverse range of creative-based majors and curriculum, which allows for exploration and expression in various fields. Additionally, the genuine care shown by faculty and staff towards the well-being of students fosters a supportive environment that helps students thrive. The personal investment and close interactions between professors and students further enhance the learning experience, creating opportunities for mentorship and individualized attention. Moreover, the intimate setting of a smaller college within the university enables the formation of tight-knit communities within classrooms!
- Post-graduation plans
Upon graduation, my next step involves completing my second rotation as the Menu Development Co-Op at Chick-fil-A Inc. during the upcoming summer. Following this experience, my aim is to transition into a full-time role with CFA Inc. on their Culinary and Commercialization team. Alternatively, should the path with Chick-fil-A not materialize, I am keen on pursuing a career in the food industry, particularly in product development. Whether as a sensory scientist, food scientist or food technologist, I am enthusiastic about leveraging the skillset honed during my CSN education in my professional endeavors moving forward.
