Why I chose my major

I chose my major to pursue my interest in nutrition and how it impacts our daily lives, ultimately shaping our long-term health. Throughout my education, I have learned the importance of relying on evidence-based recommendations and integrating them into meaningful, patient-centered care. My personal experience with running and maintaining an active lifestyle have further fueled this passion, as I have seen firsthand how proper nutrition influences both performance and overall well-being.

What I like most about FACS

Being in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences has given me a strong sense of community, making a large university feel like home. The deeply knowledgeable and well-connected faculty foster a professional, opportunity-rich learning environment, while the close-knit class sizes and cohort-style structure have allowed me to build meaningful relationships with my peers, many of whom will become future colleagues.

It is especially meaningful to be part of a college that was the first at the University of Georgia to admit women, including Mary Creswell, the university’s first female to receive an undergraduate degree, making the experience even more impactful.

Post-graduation plans

After graduation, I will be completing my M.S. in Nutritional Sciences with a concentration in Community Nutrition at the University of Georgia while concurrently with my Dietetic Internship at Emory University Hospital.
