Why I chose my major

I chose Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) because of its relevance to understanding the complexities of human behavior, relationships and development across the lifespan. HDFS has provided a comprehensive framework that integrates various disciplines, such as psychology, sociology and biology, allowing me to explore the multifaceted aspects of individuals and families in diverse contexts. Additionally, I was drawn to HDFS because of its emphasis on promoting well-being, resilience and social justice, aligning with my passion for positively impacting people's lives. As I journey towards graduation with my HDFS degree, I am excited to leverage the knowledge and skills acquired to make meaningful contributions to the enhancement of individuals, families and communities.

What I like most about FACS

The best part of FACS for me was the support system I found with the faculty and staff. Navigating higher education can be tough for first-generation college students. FACS has abundant resources that made my dream of graduating college a reality.

Post-graduation plans

Following my undergraduate studies, I will be continuing my education at the University of Georgia, embarking on a journey within the College of Public Health and the School of Social Work. I aim to pursue a dual master’s degree in public health and social work.
