AgrAbility

Since 2005, AgrAbility in Georgia has focused on promoting independence for members of the agricultural community who have disabilities, both acquired and developmental. The project provides agricultural assistive technology (AT) assessment, AT service coordination and implementation. The project has provided technical assistance and information to over 1,954 agricultural workers, their families and service providers. In addition, work is underway to develop a mobile Farm and Garden Learning Station. This facility will showcase the latest assistive technology to aide agricultural workers with disabilities or chronic health conditions. Individuals can see the latest assistive devices, worksite accommodations, and demonstrations by farmers; they can receive hands-on expert advice—all in one place.
