Areas of Expertise
I have a solid foundation in fiber, polymer, and textile science, and I am particularly knowledgeable in natural fibers, composite materials, and biodegradable polymers when it comes to sustainable textiles. As part of my current Ph.D., I have received specialized training in state-of-the-art approaches and procedures to effectively tailor and characterize polymeric materials for application in textile, fiber, and polymer sciences. Physical and mechanical analysis, including nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS), static light scattering (SLS), atomic force microscopy (AFM), ellipsometry, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-vis spectroscopy, DMA, and synthesis of polymeric films.
Current Research
Currently, I am working as a Graduate Research Assistant, at University of Georgia, USA in the Department of Textiles, Merchandising, and Interiors to pursue my Ph.D under Dr. Vladimir Reukov. My goal is to create textile materials that are protective for the wearer. I am working to contribute to a future in textiles and materials science that is both technologically sophisticated and environmentally conscious by utilizing the natural properties of raw materials and biodegradable polymers.
Job Description
The scope of my study encompasses a broad investigation of sustainable and environmentally friendly materials and textiles, such as biodegradable fabrics, natural dyes, natural fibers, flexible packaging, functional multilayered coatings, responsive smart textiles, and composite materials. I have studied the characteristics, processing techniques, and possible uses of natural fibers extensively in my research. Furthermore, in an effort to replace synthetic colors with more environmentally friendly options, I have looked into the use of natural dyes in great detail.
