Research
During her doctoral training, Santoso aims to investigate the intersections of traumatic stress, grief, parenting, and intergenerational family processes among immigrant, refugee, and historically marginalized communities. Building on her research with Chinese American immigrant parent–youth dyads and her clinical experience with individuals and families navigating trauma and grief, she is particularly interested in the cultural adaptation and implementation of evidence-based parenting and family interventions. Her research seeks to identify and build upon families’ cultural and relational strengths while addressing systemic barriers to culturally responsive mental health care.
