Research

My research interests are broadly centered around miniority children's educational outcomes and racial discrimination. More specifically, I am interested in researching how race and racial discrimination impacts academic achievement and school readiness. I have a special interest in African American , early childhood, and elementary school-aged children.

Current Research

I am currently a research assistant for Dr. Margaret Caughy and the Dallas Project on Education Pathways, formally known as DPReP (the Dallas Preschool Readiness Project) studying various cultural and familial factors that impact the development of self-regulation for African American and Latino children. Through the examination of these factors, this study seeks to understand factors that can promote academic achievement and behavioral management in these children as they transition into middle school
