FACS is seeking dedicated individuals to serve on the FACS Alumni Board! As an alumnus or friend of the college, you are invited to nominate outstanding individuals—yourself included—for this meaningful opportunity
Serving on the FACS Alumni Board offers the chance to network with faculty, staff, and fellow alumni while strengthening your connection to the college. Board members play a vital role in advancing the college’s priorities and initiatives, all while enhancing their own leadership skills.
As a member, you’ll contribute through committee participation, volunteering at FACS-sponsored events, and mentoring and supporting FACS students. Together, we can continue to build a thriving community that benefits both current and future generations!

Qualifications and Expectations
- All alumni with a degree from The University of Georgia College of Family and Consumer Sciences are eligible to serve as members of the Board.
- A passion for mentoring and engaging with current students and FACS Ambassadors
- An interest in building connections with FACS and UGA alumni.
- Commit to a three-year term beginning July 1, with opportunities to advance into leadership roles on the board.
- Dedication to attending board meetings, committee meetings, events, and programming.
- Include FACS in your philanthropic priorities by supporting the FACS Alumni Scholarships and Connections fund annually at a minimum $250.

Committee Involvement

Actively serve on at least one standing committee of the Alumni Board.

Be a present and engaged participant in quarterly board meetings and monthly committee meetings.

Champion the College of Family and Consumer Sciences within your company or organization by supporting the Dean’s priorities.

Actively participate in key FACS events, including:

Leadership Day (held during the Winter Board Meeting)

Student and Alumni Outreach

Participate in alumni panels and other classroom speaking opportunities.

Enroll in the UGA Mentor Program to support and guide students and recent graduates.
Philanthropy
Supporting FACS
Make FACS a priority in your philanthropic efforts by:

Providing an annual gift of $250 to the FACS Alumni Scholarships and Connections Fund.

Ensuring 100% board participation in initiatives such as Beat Week and Dawg Day of Giving.
