- Why I chose my major
Since I was a young girl, I’ve always considered fashion to be a superpower, utilizing it as a form of creative expression for myself. I am fascinated by the evolutionary nature of fashion, its ability to transcend and conjoin different cultures, and the way it tells a story about the state of the world around us. I knew I didn’t want to give up this passion when moving into higher education, so I decided on a fashion merchandising major and an art minor. I think it’s the perfect balance of excellent industry knowledge without losing sight of my creative vision.
- What I like most about TMI
TMI offers endless opportunities for enriching your experience at UGA. I’ve been able to study abroad twice thanks to the support and guidance of the TMI department. There’s a really great sense of community here, and I’ve met a lot of amazing professors who are more than happy to see you succeed and flourish. Not to mention some of the classmates I’ve met along the way have become very close friends of mine, and they inspire me to stay driven and shoot for the stars.
- Post-graduation Plans
I consider myself a lifelong learner, and after graduation, I plan on continuing my studies and getting my Masters in trend forecasting or creative direction. My dream is to relocate and start my fashion career in Italy, eventually becoming a trend forecaster or creative director, where I will explore on a global scale the link between identity and fashion.
