Credit or no credit?

Some internships require you to get academic credit. Others allow you to work for the experience alone. The questions below will help you decide what to do.

Have you completed the prerequisites?

If you want an internship for academic credit, you must pass FHCE 5900/7900 at least one semester prior to the semester in which you plan to do your internship.

Applied Consumer Analytics majors must complete FHCE 4000/6000 prior to doing an internship.

When is your internship?

You must be register for the internship course in the semester in which you are doing the internship.

The only summer session you can register for internships is the long summer session (THRU TERM).

How many credit hours?

The requirement is 50 hours of work for every credit hour. You must document the following number of hours as one requirement to receive an “S” grade:

  • 3 hours of credit = 150 hours of work time
