100 communities have benefitted from the GICH Program.
GICH is a collaboration between the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA), the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA), and the University of Georgia’s Center for Housing and Community Research in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences. Georgia Power has been an instrumental partner, providing financial and staff support since the program was founded. The program receives in-kind support from the UGA Archway Partnership and the Office of Public Service and Outreach.
Launched in 2004, GICH grew out of Georgia’s experience with the National League of Cities’ Affordable Housing Program and the Magnolia Awards for Excellence in Affordable Housing. This unique program is made possible by the hardworking collaboration of partners and in-kind supporters.
