The Financial Planning Mentor Program connects current Senior and Graduate students of the FHCE Financial Planning Program with Financial Planning Alumni. Mentees receive guidance and advice on their professional development, knowledge on industry insight and the opportunity to meet and network with those currently in the industry.
Both Mentors and Mentees have the option to select between two membership types that best fit their wants and schedules. Applications are accepted for both Mentors and Mentees year-round.
Membership Types
On-Going Membership
- Duration of at least one full academic year with at least 4 in-person or virtual meetings
- Opportunity for Mentee to shadow Mentor for a day if allowable
- Attendance of the SFPA Banquet together if able
- Connection at upcoming industry networking or conference events to provide additional guidance and networking introductions
Ad-Hoc Membership
- Connection and guidance at upcoming industry networking or conference events throughout the year
- Opportunity for Mentee to shadow Mentor for a day if allowable
- Option to assist with career development events (mock interviews, business etiquette)
Requirements
- Must be a current Senior or Graduate student of the FHCE Financial Planning Program
- Applications are accepted for both positions year round
- Once application is received and reviewed, the assignment between the Mentor and Mentee will be completed and contact information will be sent to the Mentee
- The Mentee will contact their Mentor to begin the mentorship term
