Human Development and Family Science Association

We promote educational, professional, and social opportunities among students interested in the development of individuals and families through all stages of life.

What does your club do?

As an association, our mission is to foster the growth and development of children, adolescents, and families through education, interdisciplinary planning, stimulation and support of research, and interaction with other individuals, organizations, and agencies that have the same purpose. We have monthly meetings where we host guest speakers from the community, offer advice on job applications, interviews and other career-related advice. We also work together as an organization to participate in volunteer opportunities within the community.

Why should someone join?

It is a great opportunity to network with professionals in the community in a smaller setting as well as get to know students within the major.

How can someone join?

Our organization is free to join! Simply attend one of our monthly meetings and you are a member!

Membership

Members of the association attend informational meetings, seminars, and talks on developmental issues and career oriented topics. These students will also be involved in group projects and activities along with volunteer service projects in the community. In the past, these projects have included adopt-a-grandparent, canned food drives and sponsoring needy families in the area. All Human Development and Family Science undergraduates as well as any interested students are welcome to become members of the HDFSA.
