The Cambodian-Laotian Community Strength and Resilience project is a community-based participatory research project that examines communities’ responses and resilience to environmental challenges.
Using community-based participatory research methods, the Cambodian-Laotian Community Strength and Resilience project collaborates with the community to:
Develop, test, and implement programs that produce information to prepare for, adapt to, and mitigate effects of environmental challenges.
Train community members in research, grant writing, and hazardous risk management skills to facilitate sustainability of developed programs/processes.
Create models of community-based risk reduction and household production of health including individual, family, and community intersections of sociocultural factors associated with strengths and vulnerabilities.
Funding
The Cambodian and Laotian Community Strengths and Resilience Project (Research-Practice Grant Number 2000008280) is funded by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Gulf Research Program.

What's Happening in the Community?
The community celebrated Buddhist New Year, which, along with Pchum Ben, is one of the most important religious festivals. Celebrations took place during April and May at Wat Veluvana, Wat Lao Buddharaska, and Wat Lao Buddha Vihara.
