The Undergraduate Internship in Behavioral Financial Planning & Financial Therapy is open to UGA undergraduate students from all colleges seeking an exceptional opportunity to explore the fields of behavioral financial planning and financial therapy. Focusing on personal and professional exploration, interns will gain foundational knowledge in principles and practices utilized by financial planners and financial therapists. The internship requires a one-semester commitment.

- Observation and learning - Observe financial coaching and planning sessions through video recordings, witness the supervision process, and learn about case conceptualization in behavioral financial planning and financial therapy through discussions with experienced faculty and student financial coaches
- Skill development - Engage with readings, videos, and assignments focused on exploring the practice and profession of behavioral financial planning and financial therapy
- Collaborative learning - Work as a cohort to enhance understanding and application of financial planning and therapy concepts through regular class meetings
- Professional networking - Meet with professionals in the field to learn about career pathways and real-world applications of behavioral financial planning and financial therapy
- Community engagement - Support the Love and Money Center's outreach programming and campus efforts promoting financial and relational wellbeing

We look for interns who exude a positive attitude, independence, and self-motivation - and who display high levels of maturity and dependability.
Program Details
Commitment: Summer semester (2026)
Credit: 3 credit hours (FACS 5910)
Requirements: Minimum 2.7 overall GPA (or 3.0 for last year) and letter of recommendation
