Human Development and Family Science (BSFCS)

The Human Development & Family Science department aims to “do what for individuals and families.” Students learn to think holistically and critically as they prepare to meet the needs of individuals and families in diverse settings.

Prevention and Intervention

Students pursuing the Prevention and Intervention coursework may be eligible for Family Life Education Certification through the National Council on Family Relations.

Child Life

Students interested in Child Life may apply to obtain a Child Life Certificate or apply to the Child Emphasis. Students have the opportunity to observe developmentally appropriate practices at the Child Development Lab at the McPhaul Center.
