Our graduate programs are designed for students who have completed a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in nutrition or other science-related discipline (health sciences, chemistry, biology, psychology, and others) and wish to earn credentials to practice nutrition and/or wish to gain further knowledge in nutrition. Our graduate programs also offer options for practicing dietitians and other health professionals seeking to enhance their knowledge and credentials.
M.S. Thesis
Graduate students in the Master's thesis option conduct an in-depth research study in one of the department's specialized program areas in conjunction with supporting coursework. This is the best option for those who plan to pursue a doctoral degree or a career in research.
M.S. Non-Thesis
The Master's non-thesis offers advanced instruction in human nutritional sciences, providing knowledge and experience for clinical, community, industry, government, and basic science careers.
M.S. Online
The online MS in Nutritional Sciences, Community Nutrition is designed for working professionals and those who wish to broaden their knowledge in the field. Courses are delivered online in an asychronous format and the program can be completed in as little as one year or over several years.
Ph.D.
Ph.D. students do extensive research and study in a specialized areas. They receive training in research methods; grant writing; dissemination of research findings at conferences and in published journals and books; teaching in academic and community settings; and making scholarly contributions to the profession and society.
Combined M.S./DI or Ph.D./DI
The mission of the Dietetic Internship program is to prepare a diverse group of students as entry level registered dietitian nutritionists for successful careers in dietetics and encourage students to assume leadership roles in their profession and in society.
DPD add on
Students who hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or foreign equivalent may complete the Didactic Program in Dietetics coursework combined with an on campus graduate degree.
SNDCP
The School Nutrition Director Certification Program is an online program designed for individuals who are employed as School Nutrition Directors or Coordinators in Georgia. Successful program completion will lead to recommendation for certification to the Ga. PSC.
