Housing and Community Lecture Series

Each year, the Center hosts a lecture series on a theme selected by the faculty and board of directors. The Center invites experts to present on pressing housing and community development topics. The lectures are free and open to the public. Registration is required.

Undergraduate Housing & Community Development Fellowship Program

Each spring, the Center for Housing and Community Research offers a fellowship program each spring to provide undergraduate students with the opportunity to learn and apply new skills while working on a project that supports the work of the Center.

UGA Academic Programs and Student Organization

The Center for Housing and Community Research faculty teach and advise students in four academic programs in the Department of Financial Planning, Housing and Consumer Economics in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences

UGA Community Mapping Lab

Dr. Jerry Shannon, Associate Director of the Center for Housing and Community Research, leads the UGA Community Mapping Lab. The Community Mapping Lab is a student and faculty collaboration focused on analyzing spatial data in ways that empower communities, shape understanding of important issues, and have an impact on public policy. The Mapping Lab has played a vital role in conducting housing conditions assessments for cities taking part in the Georgia Initiative for Community Housing program.
