The minor in Consumer Economics provides a knowledge base for students interested in a consumer's perspective of the marketplace. The course work helps students understand issues and policies affecting consumers.
Requirements
- MUST BE IN GOOD STANDING.
- Must earn at least a "C" grade (2.0) in each minor course.
- A minor must contain at least 9 hours of upper division course work.
- Courses taken to satisfy Core Areas I through V cannot be counted as course work in the minor.
- Courses taken in Core Area VI may be counted as course work in the minor.
- Courses taken for a minor can also count in a major required area.
- All prerequisites must be met for the courses.

Prereqs and Scheduling
- FHCE 3150/3150E is the prereq for FHCE 4100/6100.
- FHCE 3100/3100E and FHCE 3150/3150E are the prereqs for FHCE 5100/7100.
- FHCE 3100/3100E is the prereq for FHCE 5160/7160.
- FHCE 5710/7110 (Study Tour course) is taught only in the summers and not every summer.
No substitutions of courses are made in the minor.
How to Apply
- Log into Athena. Go to the Student tab, then click on My Programs.
- Click the Add Minor button, select the minor you wish to add, and confirm your selection. You will then be able to see if any courses you are taking or have taken will satisfy the minor requirements.
