Introduction to Family and Consumer Sciences

A resource to guide you through FACS 2000

Welcome to the FACS 2000 eResource! This page will be used to guide you through the 8-week course. FACS 2000 prepares students to build their bridge to success by connecting them to people, resources, and opportunities at the University of Georgia and within the College of Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS). A systems perspective is emphasized by examining the family and consumer sciences Body of Knowledge related to individual, community, and global topics.

After completing these modules, you will be able to:

  • Describe the components of the FACS Body of Knowledge.
  • Apply the Body of Knowledge to individual, community, and global issues/topics across FACS disciplines.
  • Explain the interconnectedness of fields within FACS guided by the Body of Knowledge.
  • Identify relevant resources related to your FACS interests to build a bridge for future success.

Our college's mission is to advance the well-being of diverse individuals and families over their life span and strengthen communities through the generation and dissemination of knowledge, development of professionals, and provision of research-based programs.
