Body of Knowledge and My Community

Creating better communities is the foundation of family and consumer sciences. As you transition from centering yourself within the Body of Knowledge consider your role within the community.

In this module, you’ll learn more about the different groups that make up the FACS community including faculty, students, and alumni.

Faculty Ambassadors

Faculty Ambassadors promote the college to prospective students and encourage current students to engage in FACS activities throughout the calendar year. There is one Faculty Ambassador for each of four departments.

You can connect with one of these Faculty Ambassadors to learn more about the programs they represent, ways to get involved, and opportunities to enhance your academic and professional journey.

Student Perspectives

Students are what make our community vibrant. Through student organizations, internships, service-learning, leadership development, career planning, and more you can apply in-class learning to out-of-class experiences.

Alumni Perspectives

With over 20,000 FACS alumni represented worldwide, these individuals are a perfect example of how your FACS experience will allow you to analyze problems, understand processes, and serve as a resource and expert to address and solve grand challenges locally and beyond.
