Over the summer, I worked at The Home Depot as a global sourcing intern on the Private Brands team. I was able to accept and excel in this position because of my time in classes and mentoring underneath professors in the TXMI department. I am proud and thankful to be a part of a department that has such eagerness to foster amazing learning opportunities.
The Fashion Merchandising program equipped me with creative and dynamic skills that have played an integral part in achieving career highlights such as co-founding Strike Magazine Athens, interning at Fendi, & now working for SPANX as an Influencer Marketing Coordinator. I am eternally grateful for the faculty support, networking opportunities, and like-minded individuals I encountered during my time as a student in this program!
I am a Demand Planning Coordinator at Spanx, which means I help to build future forecasts for our customers’ demand. I then work with my cross functional partners to ensure our demand is accurate and aligned with our supply.
Over the summer I worked for Under Armour as a Product & Merchandising E-Commerce intern where I was able to utilize several skills gained from the TMI program such as excel, visual merchandising, and trend analysis, to be successful at my job. Through the courses taught and projects I worked on, I have been able to gain expertise in several areas of the fashion industry which have helped prepare me for real work experiences.
The industry-specific knowledge I gained from my fashion merchandising coursework and experiential learning opportunities have been invaluable in my career in retail. The TMI faculty encouraged my professional development and couldn't have prepared me better for post-grad!
