This Fashion Merchandising emphasis is a specialization in fashion design, product development, and sourcing to prepare you for careers in the fashion industry.
Coursework
There are four courses in this emphasis designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed for fashion design and product development.
Creative Spaces
In Barrow Hall, you'll have access to various creative spaces to explore, problem-solve, and develop your ideas into tangible products.
Hands-On Experience
The Product Development and Design emphasis provides you with the opportunity to develop fashion products and work with designers and manufacturers to produce garments in various learning opportunities.
Student Groups
There are four student-run orgnaizations in the department geared toward student interests in various aspects of the fashion industry.
Scholarships
If you decide to pursue this emphasis, we have special scholarships to help you with study abroad travel costs and to participate in your dream summer internship. The scholarships are provided by the Georgia Soft Goods Education Foundation.
Apply
This is a high demand emphasis and you will need to submit an application before being accepted. After completing TXMI 2010 and TXMI 3210, you can complete an application and submit five examples of work. Applications are open September and February every year.
