Hands-On Experience

All UGA undergraduate students are required to fulfill an Experiential Learning activity. This allows you to gain hands-on experience connecting the classroom with the fashion industry. In the PDD emphasis, you'll gain experiential learning through internships, study abroad or study away and undergraduate research.

Undergraduate Research

Undergraduate Research

Another hands-on experience is on the UGA campus by conducting research with a TMI faculty member. In the area of product development and design, Dr. Laura McAndrews conducts creative design research with students. There are various funding awards through CURO and FACS which can financially help with your research interests.

The CURO design research program allowed me to take the skills I learned in class and apply them to a hand on creative project alongside a fellow peer and Dr. McAndrews. I was able to conduct in-depth research and thus, gathered more information about the garment creation process which is a major part of the fashion industry.
