In February 2020 we brought in national experts to determine which objects align with the updated mission, the goal of active learning, how to best utilize the artifacts/and or repurpose them, and ways to grow and adjust the collection. This initiative was fueled due to new and improved housing for our collection in the Special Collections Library. The collections assessment project will continue to grow by properly rehousing all objects throughout the new year. It’s been a professional and educational experience with participants ranging from national experts, staff of the Special Collections Library and the Historic Clothing and Textiles Collection, and numerous student volunteers with hands-on engagement.
